    Esperanza en el Véneto, alerta en Lombardía

    Italia, el gran laboratorio de pruebas de Europa en la lucha contra el Covid-19, superó el jueves a China y se convirtió en el epicentro mortal de la pandemia con 3.405 decesos. El primer país occidental en decretar el cierre de sus fronteras sigue viviendo jornadas complicadas de las que emergen algunas pistas. Hay algún resultado positivo que enmarcar en un cuadro general aún muy difícil y variable. La parte peor es para la región de Lombardía y la esperanza es mirar si se consolidan los avances del ejemplo ‘coreano’ del Véneto.

    Pero lo primero para entender la tendencia es recordar el calendario. “Los primeros efectos de las medidas de restricción comenzaremos a verlos en dos semanas”, explicó el primer ministro, Giuseppe Conte, el 10 de marzo, cuando anunció la cuarentena sobre los 60 millones de italianos. A jueves 19 de marzo, han pasado ocho días desde que se activó el aislamiento en Italia y 11 días desde que se decretó el cierre del norte del país. Ayer, con los últimos datos disponibles, Conte apuntó a que se “prorrogarán las actuales medidas de cuarentena”. Se especula, incluso, con que puedan endurecerse. más información
